WSES Ensures Commissioning of the Steering System on the Cruise Liner Barguzin

November 20, 2025 — WSES has successfully completed a full set of commissioning works on the steering gear of the Project RPV8714A cruise liner Barguzin, currently under construction at PJSC Krasnoye Sormovo. The vessel is the largest ship operating on Lake Baikal.

The scope of work included configuration of the steering gear automation system, verification of control logic, and comprehensive testing of integrated operation with the vessel’s onboard systems. A key feature of the project was the use of proprietary controllers developed by the manufacturer instead of standard industrial solutions, which required customized approaches to system integration and parameterization.

Following sea trials, the vessel’s required maneuverability performance was confirmed, along with reliable operation of the steering gear under normal operating conditions.

“This project allowed us to further expand our expertise in implementing specialized control systems and integrating non-standard hardware platforms. We will continue to develop our competencies in marine equipment automation,” WSES representatives commented.
